Global Social Problems: Society, Equality, and Human Rights (Commuters) 7/21-7/25/2014

This course examines contemporary social problems and modes of conflict resolution. In an attempt to resolve many human rights issues, students are introduced to a variety of human social experiences through the lenses of race, gender, sexuality, income, and other forms of social stratification; to examine the results of these environmental and social conditions on behavior and reality; and to examine how societal context impacts social deviance, poverty, crime, and educational and healthcare inequalities.
