Teaching the Common Core/Reading 3/27/14

The recently adopted ELA Common Core State Standards are spurring educational reform. This workshop will examine the Reading Common Core State Standards for Grades 3-5 and explore the New Jersey Department of Education ELA Model Curriculum and Assessments in order to understand the level of depth and rigor expected from students. Best practices in teaching reading in the elementary grades will be discussed along with the integration of Webb’s Depths of Knowledge into your planning. Option: Teacher may bring their text.
