Engaging Adolescent Minds: Integrating Non-Fiction Texts Across the Curriculum
The new Common Core Standards call for a substantial increase of required reading to be non-fiction texts, up to 70% by grade twelve. This year’s institute will incorporate various methods to integrate the use of non-fiction texts not only in English classes, but in all subject areas. Authors of the genre and workshop presenters will discuss creative and engaging ways to include informational texts in your classes.
